Physics and Chemistry each have 45 questions; Biology has 90. The total can range from −180 to 720 under the standard marking scheme. The table preserves each subject’s contribution.

The formula
An unanswered question normally contributes zero. Count every question once within its subject. For a dropped or disputed question, use the final NTA award treatment rather than adding a separate bonus outside the 180-question total.
Worked example
Physics with 35 correct and five wrong gives 135. The same Chemistry counts give 135. Biology with 75 correct and ten wrong gives 290. The total is 560 out of 720, with 20 marks deducted and 15 questions receiving zero.

Provisional keys and final scores
A provisional answer key can change after challenges. Keep a count of disputed questions so you can revise the relevant subject instead of overwriting the whole estimate. An official dropped-question award may apply even where you originally left the question blank. In that case move that question into the awarded count, rather than counting it in two places.
Marks are different from percentile and rank
The arithmetic here needs only your response counts. A percentile or rank needs the actual candidate distribution and the applicable ranking rules. A score does not by itself establish a seat, category cutoff, or counselling outcome. Use the published scorecard and official counselling information for those decisions; this tool does not manufacture a marks-to-rank prediction.

Common questions
Can the estimated score be negative?
Yes. If every one of the 180 questions receives a −1 deduction, the arithmetic total is −180. The tool preserves that result.
How do I enter a dropped question awarded four marks?
Include it among the questions awarded +4 in its subject, following the final official instructions. Remove it from any wrong or zero-mark count so it is represented only once.
